The submission has to stand up to a technical interview
Pumex Computing recruits technical specialists for demanding client projects, including system implementations, data migrations, and application modernization. For the staffing team, a strong resume is the beginning of the evaluation. The candidate still has to demonstrate the expertise the project requires.
As competition increased, that gap became more costly. Candidates who appeared qualified were not advancing through later client interviews. Recruiters needed a dependable way to explore specialized skills, including disciplines outside their own expertise, before putting a candidate forward.
The firm also faced candidates misrepresenting their experience or identity. Those concerns put more weight on each submission: Pumex needed to give clients confidence in both the person and the technical assessment behind the recommendation.
Build the screen around the client’s actual requirements
Pumex brought Alex into its screening workflow to conduct technical interviews tailored to each client project. The interview explores a candidate’s answers and follows up where more detail is needed, producing a structured record recruiters can review.
That workflow gives the team more to evaluate than a list of technologies on a resume. Recruiters can see how a candidate explains their knowledge, examine the supporting transcript and recording, and use technical scoring to inform the shortlist. They retain the responsibility for deciding which candidates to recommend.
Alex also surfaces potential interview-integrity concerns, including tab-switching and other suspicious behavior, for the team to examine. Video playback provides another part of the record recruiters can review before a candidate reaches the client.
Give clients the evidence behind the recommendation
The change is visible in client interviews. Pedro Rodriguez, Director of Staffing at Pumex, describes the result: “Alex reduces our screening effort. Now 75% of our submitted candidates reach the final round.”
The supporting materials have become part of Pumex’s value to its Fortune 100 clients. A submission can include the interview recording, transcript, and technical assessment, making the screening process visible and giving hiring teams a fuller basis for the next conversation.
For recruiters, the workflow also changes where effort goes. Instead of manually screening ten or more candidates to build a three-person shortlist, they can use Alex’s interviews to focus their review and follow-up on the candidates with the strongest apparent fit.
Give hiring teams evidence they can evaluate
Pumex’s submissions now carry more than a recruiter’s recommendation. Interview recordings, transcripts, and technical assessments give Fortune 100 hiring teams a clearer view of the expertise they are being asked to consider.
Pumex reports that 75% of its submitted candidates reach clients’ final rounds, a concrete measure of how those recommendations progress through the client’s evaluation.
Pumex describes the operating value: “Alex helps us deliver consistent results and build client trust without adding overhead.”
