Alex is the virtual AI interviewer your potential employer uses to run structured, role-specific interviews. Alex conducts live, conversational interviews over video, phone, or chat. Alex records the interview, then shares the recording and transcript with the hiring team so human reviewers can make the hiring decisions.
Alex is built for candidate flexibility. You can schedule and complete your interview 24/7 on any device. If you need to reschedule your interview, you can do so via the link in your interview confirmation email from Alex.
During the interview, Alex asks natural, conversational questions so every applicant has a fair and consistent chance to share their experience.
No. Video is the interface, but Alex conducts a real-time, two-way conversation, asks intelligent follow-ups, and reacts to your answers like a human recruiter might. The goal is to have an open dialogue that allows the employer’s hiring team to receive additional context about you and your application.
Interview Logistics & Support
You will receive an email with a scheduling link so you can pick a time that works for you. Alex is available 24/7 and will work around your schedule.
You can reschedule your interview at any time by going to the scheduling confirmation email from Alex (or your calendar invite, if you added the invitation to your calendar).

Don't worry - your interviewer will be available at any time, and you are able to restart a paused interview. Take these steps to troubleshoot:
- Ensure you have a strong connection.
- We recommend at least 10 Mbps WiFi or 5G cellular signal.
- Check that you have both camera and microphone access enabled on your browser.
- Click “Allow” on any pop-up boxes that may show up requesting access to your camera or microphone.
- Ensure that your device’s camera and microphone work. If they do not, move to a different device.
- Reload the page.
- Try a different browser or device.

If a technical issue causes you to miss your interview time slot, do not worry - you will be able to take the interview at another time that works for you. You can use the same interview link.
Evaluation & Next Steps
No. Alex does not make final hiring decisions and does not automatically reject candidates. Alex’s recordings, transcripts, and notes are shared with the employer’s hiring team, and humans make all hiring decisions.
Alex uses the content of the interview and your application materials to provide a summary to the hiring team. Alex does not scrape or gather candidate information from third-party sites such as LinkedIn, GitHub, or Stack Overflow, and Alex does not build external candidate profiles from third-party datasets.
This is up to the prospective employer. They will reach out with next steps if they would like to move forward with your application.
